Yoga is integration and harmony between thoughts, words and deeds, or integration between head, heart and hands.
-Swami Shivananda
Looking back, my own asana practice started in 2019. Some months later I flew to Portugal – studying and living there for a year. My mat was my accompaniment and I continued practicing on the beach, in parks, in my appartment – but most of the time still on my own. Back in Germany this „only-self-practice“ did not really satisfy me anymore and I felt the desire to do my asana practice with a teacher, within a group. So I started to visit a yoga studio.
The more I not only learned about my own practice in each class but also listening to some snippets of the yogic philosophy, the seed and wish of of doing a teacher training one day grew and got nourished day by day. Therefore I am not lying when I am saying that it was really a dream coming true in March 2024.
There is definetely not enough space here to describe my wondeful YTT experiences at Shamana Atitlan – I will dedicate an own blogpost post to my time there. All I want to already say is, that I feel deeply grateful for this chapter of my life – being surrounded by so many beautiful souls – especially Batya & Eran. They passed me their knowledge of Shamana Yoga – an integral, systematic and balanced practice that is modified to each individual´s needs. The main emphasis of their style is on expansion of awareness, liberation of energy, mindfulness and relaxation.
