atME was my third tattoo.
I felt that I wanted to have a permanent reminder on my skin, that brings me back into the present moment and to ME. You can read atME (breath; verb, german) as an invitation to pause whatever you are doing and coming back to your natural rhythm of life – the essence – your breath.
After a while I wanted to have another word that I could see and read as often as possible – the word love. So I started to play with different styles of writing and languages – the final result was the word amOR (love; noun, portuguese) – also four letters just like atME. It just felt right to have this word written in portuguese, since I connect a beautiful and important time of my life with Portugal. And there is still this longing inside of me of coming back one day.
Just like the two last letters of atME, I decided to also have the OR in amOR written in capital letters. L´or (gold; noun, french) as something precious, just like love is. Furthermore part of my family is french – I loved this double connection. So here are my daily reminders:
